DETAILS
Black polyimide tape offers an excellent balance of physical, chemical, and electrical properties over a wide temperature range. It maintains superior dimensional stability at elevated temperatures. Consequently, it is ideal for industrial applications requiring opacity, low reflectivity, or aesthetics.
Additionally, manufacturers can load black polyimide film with conductive carbons to produce films with surface resistivity, making it electrically conductive or static dissipative. This property makes it great for ESD or anti-static applications. The resistive property permeates the entire film, preventing cracks, rub-offs, or damage common with surface coatings or metallization. Also available with adhesive, Black Polyimide Tape provides even more versatility.

APPLICATIONS

Black Coverlay
You can coat black polyimide film with adhesive on one or both sides. Use black polyimide coverlay to encapsulate etched details in flexible and rigid-flex multilayer constructions for environmental protection and electrical insulation. Furthermore, black coverlay enhances circuit aesthetics and improves LED lighting controls in specialty applications.

Satellite & Space
Black polyimide tape provides both thermal and anti-static control for numerous satellite applications. It retains the outstanding inertness, radiation, and temperature resistance of other polyimide films, making it ideal for space or other extreme environments. Use it as a radiant heat absorber or in satellite blankets for optimal performance.
