APPLICATIONS
PET film is often an excellent choice for more demanding applications in food and nonfood-film applications. Major uses include microwave, and medical packaging, plastic wrap, tape backing, printed films, plastic cards, protective coatings such as solar and safety window films, release films, transformer insulation films and flexible printed circuits. PET is also used as an aroma barrier film (e.g. coffee and tobacco packaging). This type of film is sometimes metallized by vapor deposition of metals, which further improves the barrier against oxygen, water vapor and aroma loss.
ELECTRICAL INSULATION
Polyimide films are lightweight, flexible, and resistant to heat and chemicals. As a result, they are used in the electronics industry for flexible cables and as an insulating film on magnet wire.
POLYIMIDE FILM MECHANICAL PARTS
Polyimide film possesses a high mechanical stability even at elevated temperatures, making them ideal to be used as gaskets, filters or constructive parts in demanding applications.
ELECTRONICS
With the high temperature stability of the polyimide film, it can be used as a reliable insulation film in applications subjected to various types of environmental stresses. Polyimide can also be used as a substrate for cell phone antennas.
