Lamination
Optimized & Industry-ready Solutions
For All Your Complicated Needs
CGS also offers laminating services, it is the process of manufacturing multiple layer materials joined by using adhesives. CGS has multiple laminating machines to perform laminating services for a variety of film and adhesive tapes. The finished product gains improved strength, appearance or other properties. These material can then be further converted for ease of use, by die cutting, slitting or sheeting.

MATERIAL LAMINATING
At CGS, we specialize in precision material lamination for demanding industrial applications. Many of our products involve laminating two or more materials to enhance performance, simplify assembly, or meet specific end-use requirements. Whether you're creating custom adhesive tapes, multi-layer insulation, or specialty die-cut components, we can help engineer the right lamination for your needs.
A common application involves laminating pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) to films such as polyimide (Kapton®), PET, or PTFE to produce high-performance adhesive-backed materials. We also laminate multiple layers of film or foam to create thicker or reinforced versions, such as our 20 mil Kapton film—a durable alternative to Cirlex® used in electrical insulation.
Our team can accommodate a wide range of lamination combinations including:
-
Adhesive + Film + Liner
-
Foil + PSA
-
Tape + Release Liner

02.
ZONED ADHESIVE LAMINATING
At CGS, we offer zoned lamination—a specialized technique that applies adhesive only to selected areas of a material, leaving the rest of the surface adhesive-free. This precision approach is ideal for applications where controlled adhesive placement is critical to performance, cleanliness, or assembly.
Zoned lamination can be achieved in two ways:
-
Pre-cut adhesive lamination – Pre-die-cut adhesive shapes are laminated onto a substrate, creating specific adhesive zones.
-
Adhesive removal – A continuous adhesive layer is applied first, then unwanted adhesive is pulled away from the non-bonding areas during a second converting step.

Benefits of Lamination
Improved Performance & Durability
Laminated films combine multiple layers to enhance strength, flexibility, and resistance to moisture, heat, and chemicals—ideal for demanding environments.
Streamlined Assembly
Adhesive lamination simplifies the final product by integrating adhesive directly into the material—reducing the need for separate gluing steps and saving time in production.
Custom Material Properties
By layering different substrates (e.g., foam, film, foil, adhesive), you can tailor properties like insulation, cushioning, or conductivity to meet specific application needs.
Precision & Clean Conversions
Multilayer laminates enable clean die-cutting, kiss-cutting, and zone lamination, ensuring accuracy and reducing material waste during fabrication.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you laminate customer-supplied materials?
Yes, we can laminate both customer-supplied and sourced materials. Whether you provide your own substrates, adhesives, or liners, we’ll work with your material specs to ensure compatibility and performance. Our team can also assist with material selection if needed.
What’s the lead time for custom laminated constructions?
Lead times vary based on material availability, complexity, and order volume. Standard custom laminations typically take 5–10 business days, but we also offer rush options for urgent jobs. In-house converting capabilities help reduce turnaround time.
Can you provide samples or small production runs?
Absolutely. We offer prototypes and short runs for product development, testing, and validation. This is ideal for customers looking to verify performance before committing to full-scale production.
What if I need zone lamination or custom-shaped adhesive areas?
We specialize in zone lamination, where adhesive is applied only to specific areas of the material. Combined with die-cutting, we can create complex shapes and configurations tailored to your application—perfect for reducing waste and improving assembly efficiency.
